About Me

My name is Leah, and I’m a trained veterinary assistant with a lifelong passion for animal care.

After completing university—just as the world was shutting down during the pandemic—I found myself reflecting on what I truly wanted to do (as many of us did). I’ve always loved animals and grew up surrounded by them, but for a long time, I didn’t believe I had the smarts or the skills to work directly with them.

I originally studied Global and International Studies with a concentration in Globalization and the Environment, with hopes of becoming an environmental lawyer.

I figured if I couldn’t help animals hands-on, maybe I could help protect the world they live in. But eventually, I challenged myself to pursue what I really wanted: to work with animals in a more direct and personal way.

In 2021, I graduated with High Honours from Sheridan College’s Animal Care program and began working in veterinary clinics right away as a Veterinary Assistant.

Since then, I’ve worked in emergency hospitals (ICU and ER), general practice clinics, and even alongside a board-certified veterinary dentist. From cleaning kennels and assisting in surgery to filling prescriptions, I’ve been hands-on in every way my role allowed.

Working in vet hospitals across Mississauga, North Bay, and Ottawa exposed me to a range of veterinary approaches—from gold-standard care to bare-bones basics. This experience gave me a well-rounded perspective on best practices in animal health and client care.

Now, I’ve stepped away from clinical settings to focus on in-home pet care. Over the years, I noticed a major gap in support for animals and their owners outside the vet clinic.

My goal is to fill that gap—offering dependable, compassionate care that helps both pets and the people who love them
